Privacy Policy
This policy explains what MulchVolume does with information when you use mulchvolume.com. It describes how the site actually works today, and it will be updated when that changes.

What the calculators do with what you type
The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser.
The measurements, depths, bag sizes, coverage figures and prices you enter into a calculator are used by your own browser to work out the result, and are not transmitted to MulchVolume or to anyone else. Nothing you enter into a calculator is stored on this site, and the calculators do not save your entries in cookies or in browser storage — so returning to a calculator gives you an empty form, by design.
The contact form
The contact form is the one place on this site where something you type is deliberately sent somewhere.
If you fill in the contact form, the name, email address and message you enter are transmitted through a third-party form-delivery service, whose role is to pass the message on to the MulchVolume contact address so that it can be read and answered. You can avoid the form entirely by emailing contact@mulchvolume.com directly.
What is done with a message you send:
- it is used to read, understand and reply to what you wrote, and to handle any follow-up correspondence in the same conversation;
- it may be used to deal with spam or abuse if that becomes necessary.
What is not done with it:
- it is not sold;
- it is not added to a marketing list or a newsletter;
- there is no newsletter;
- it is not used to build an advertising audience, and it is not uploaded to any advertising product;
- it is not used for any purpose unrelated to answering you.
How long messages are kept
There is no fixed deletion schedule for correspondence.
A message you send may be kept for as long as is reasonably needed to deal with the conversation it belongs to, to keep an ordinary record of correspondence, to deal with spam or abuse, or to meet a legal obligation. If you would like a message you sent to be deleted, you can ask at contact@mulchvolume.com.
Analytics and advertising
This site does not currently run an analytics product, and does not currently serve advertising.
There is no third-party analytics script, no tag manager, and no advertising script on these pages. If that changes, this policy will be updated at the same time, and the relevant disclosures will be added here rather than described in advance.
Links to other sites
Pages on this site link to material published by other organisations — horticultural bodies, government agencies, universities, and in some places suppliers and retailers — so that you can read a cited figure in its original context.
Those sites are not operated by MulchVolume and handle information under their own privacy practices. Following a link takes you outside this site.
Security
Reasonable care is taken with correspondence and with the operation of this site. No website or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and no such guarantee is made here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights over personal information about you.
If you would like to ask what has been received from you, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, write to contact@mulchvolume.com and the request will be handled.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes to what is collected, or to how it is used, are made here at the same time as the change to the site itself — not afterwards.
